The Berbers of Morocco were the artisans who produced the Beni Ouarain Moroccan Area Rug in the past. They would have made these by hand. They carried these treasures with them as well. When they moved, they traded in their lambskins for fresh wool. They used the new wool to make rugs. They used these for themselves and also advertised them to visitors. These carpets were crafted in accordance with a basic custom. All they did was use them as decoration on garments or other objects. As previously stated, these carpets are made from hand-spun and hand-knotted wool. Similar to every rug we have, their goal is to increase both comfort and attractiveness.
